Mike Broder founded Competitive Sense, LLC to help clients improve performance in changing markets. We draw upon a network of expert partners and resources to bring the right skills to bear on each client's needs. 

With 20 years experience in the online, media, telecommunications, and financial services industries, Mike has held key positions in companies and industries undergoing rapid and dramatic change. He has served in a variety of corporate and divisional operations leadership roles with his previous employers: AOL, Time Warner, MCI Communications, and MMS International. 

  • Investor Relations – Represented Fortune 100 companies to Wall Street during periods of rapid change resulting from large-scale M&A activity, new technologies, emerging competitors, and changing government regulations
  • Market & Competitor Evaluation – Established competitive analysis functions within Internet / Media / and Telecom companies
  • Financial Analysis & Forecasting – Responsible for all pricing and promotions within MCI’s Consumer Markets division
  • Metrics & Product Usage Evaluation – Led team that implemented new, AOL-wide product usage metrics collection and analysis effort 
  • Leading Organizational Change – Member of leadership team for 1,500 person global software development organization at AOL charged with defining and implementing new group structures, work flow, resource reporting and forecasting

Mike has developed insightful and data-driven strategies and communications plans for organizations facing increasing competitive threats, navigating changing markets, and going through large transactions. Executives have relied upon his input, analysis and support in efforts to enhance their organizations’ performance.

Mike earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from Stanford University.
